Wikipedia Editing

Who can edit an article?
Anyone can edit a Wikipedia article, you don’t even have to have a Wikipedia login

What is an editor?
An editor is anyone who contributes to a Wikipedia article

What pictures can be placed on wiki?
Wikipedia limits what pictures can be placed on Wikipedia.  One time permission does not count.  Picture must be open source, own work, or a low quality logo used for identification.

Do I need to start at the sandbox?
No.  The sandbox is a place to play around with features without affecting any articles, but there is no requirement to use it.

What is a good place to start?
Making minor changes to existing articles or expanding a stub is a great place to start.

What is a stub?
A stub is a short article that technically is too short to contain encyclopedic knowledge of a subject but isn’t worthless.

“Be Bold”?
Jump into an article, make some changes.  Sure some editors are jerks, but many more are helpful.

What if I don’t want to be bold, but think something is wrong?
All articles have a discussion page attached.  This is an informal discussion about what is said in the article and sometimes disputed information is placed here.

What if I want to start a new article?
If you are interested in a topic and think there should be an article on it, well then write it.

What information should be included in an article?
Information should be notable.  A good place to start is to find an article similar to the one you are writing and include similar information

What is notable?
Notable (or more specifically notability) is what makes an article worthy of encyclopedic coverage.  While notability does not limit an articles content, information not meeting notable criteria is more likely to be deleted by other editors.
