Editing Wikipedia / Editing Code Reference Sheet

Simplified Markup Language

When editing in Wikipedia you aren’t working with website programming code but you aren’t working with Microsoft either.  You are in whole different realm and quite frankly MS Office has spoiled you.  Basically markup language instructs in text what is suppose to happen to the body of the work.  Wikis use a specialized, simple markup language that often uses a combination of symbols rather than text.
